Our recent expansion into offering Technical Grade Urea (TGU) was born from the fact that we understand the quality issues that arise from purchasing TGU from any source. European urea is known to be of extremely high quality, with low Biuret and Aldehyde. These two compounds are toxic for the internal working of a vehicle.
TGU is the product of synthesising gas into urea to form CO(NH2)2. This TGU is then dissolved into deionised water and AdBlue® is made. When heated, urea decomposes into gaseous ammonia. It is under this state that it transforms the nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen and water (N2, H2O).
TGU is manufactured in fertilizer factories around the world. However, the process requires huge infrastructure which is normally part of larger chemical installations owned by large corporate institutions or quasi- government organisations. Therefore, production plants are few and far apart.
Blue Sky Environmental Technologies (Pty) Ltd has the agency for two TGU manufacturers & suppliers in Europe. We represent them to cover the Southern African region & East Coast Islands.
Key producing regions include the Middle East and China, Europe and Noth America. The pricing and availability of urea are influenced by factors such as natural gas prices, seasonal demands, geopolitical events, and trade policies.
